The Golden Triangle links Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, and it is the standard first itinerary in India for good reason: three cities within a few hours of each other holding some of the most recognisable architecture in the world, including the Taj Mahal.
Over a week it can be done without rushing, leaving time for Old Delhi, a proper morning at the Taj, and Amber Fort in Jaipur rather than a dash between them.

Is the Taj Mahal closed on any day?
Yes — it is closed to visitors every Friday for prayers. Any itinerary has to be built around that, and ours is. It is also worth knowing that sunrise is the best time to visit, both for light and for crowds, which means a very early start from Agra.
How long does the Golden Triangle take?
Six or seven days is comfortable — roughly two days in Delhi, one to two in Agra and two in Jaipur, plus travel. It can be compressed into four, but that turns it into a checklist. The extra days are what let you spend a full morning at the Taj and half a day at Amber Fort.
What is the best time of year for this tour?
October to March. All three cities are on the plains and summer heat above 40°C makes long days at open-air monuments genuinely difficult. Winter is comfortable, though Delhi and Agra can be foggy in late December and January, which occasionally affects road and rail timings.
