Modest clothing covering shoulders and legs, and a head covering for everyone regardless of gender or religion. Scarves are provided free at the entrance if you do not have one. What time is the Wagah border ceremony?
It takes place every evening before sunset, so the exact time shifts with the season — earlier in winter, later in summer. Seating is unreserved and fills quickly, so the transfer is planned to arrive well ahead. Carry ID, and note that bags are restricted.
Can we eat at the langar in the Golden Temple?
Yes. The community kitchen serves free vegetarian meals to anyone, of any background, around the clock, and visitors are genuinely welcome. It is one of the most striking things about the place. Many guests also spend time helping with the dishes, which is equally welcomed.
